The Building Department administers and enforces ordinance provisions pertaining to fences, sidewalks, tree and woodland preservation, and unsafe buildings and zoning. It improves buildings, administers and oversees a number of real property and personal property tax exemption programs, provides tax information, and serves as a source for real and personal property valuation issues and assessment administration. The Assessing Department deals with legal descriptions and property location maps of land.
